Interview with AURORA SNOW

I can admit it...I'm a huge fan of Aurora Snow. I've been since several years ago, when I first saw her in a scene. Obviously, the physical beauty of Ms. Snow was the main reason I watched her performance, but also something else. I couldn't quite figure out what was making me watch more of her work over the next few months, but I knew I definitely wanted to see MORE of her work. Not for the ol' in and out that she was doing, but there was something else. I couldn't figure it out first, but there was some cosmic reason as to WHY I wanted to see more. Then, a few years ago, it hit me. There was something in her eyes that said "Hey, I know what I do for a living. But that is not all that I am. I'm not some coked out crazy bitch, but I have intelligence as well. This is not what defines me, but rather who I am is what defines me." And that was when I knew that there was more to Ms. Snow then meets the eye. Or computer screen. I read everything I could on her, every interview that I could find on the interwebs. But none of them told me the answers to the questions I had. I found her on twitter, and after following her for over a year on that site, some of questions became answered. I had more though. So I got the courage to tweet her and ask her if I could do an interview with her via email. I was shocked when she said yes! So what follows are the questions I asked her, and her answers. I didn't edit her answers, or try to write some fancy interview, as if I was writing for a major magazine. That wouldn't be doing her justice. So here she is...ladies and gentlemen, the inestimable Ms. Aurora Snow!

Recently you've appeared in such mainstream films as "Superbad" and
"The Rules of Attraction". Is there any difficulty for you in
auditioning for non-adult film roles? How were you approached to be in
these films? Do you have any more non-adult film roles coming?
A friend of a friend put me in touch with my mainstream opportunities
and at other times they have come to me through my agent. I have also
been on Comedy Central and Spike Tv’s A 1,000 WAYS TO DIE.
Just this last weekend I was on the east coast doing a country/rap
music video for FatRat Da Czar. It was a lot of fun :)

You're a college student. What are you majoring in? What made you
decide to go back to school? What do you hope to do with your
education?
I am majoring in Social and Behavioural Sciences. I always meant to
finish school and then got caught up in the x-rated world of
entertainment. I don’t like to leave my goals unaccomplished. I
realized it was time to finish what I began a long time ago. Of course
I have changed my major so many times, it will be a little while yet
before I earn my degree. Perfectly okay with me, as I enjoy going to
school.

You tweet alot about yoga. Can you tell us more about the specific
type of yoga you do? Have you found it to be beneficial to you in your
life as opposed to more traditional forms of physical fitness?
I love yoga though am still new to it. I am still in my first year of
practice. I primarily do Bikram Yoga, which I have a love/hate
relationship with. I cannot stand the heat, posing in a class with 30
other people indoors at temperatures above 100 degrees F & having
sweat run into my eyes for an hour and a half is not something I enjoy
and yet… thirty minutes after leaving class I feel invigorated. Unlike
other yoga classes Bikram is a challenge each and every time I set
foot in it. Its hard not to walk out when the heat gets to be too
much.

You recently tweeted abut being in the midwest working on a book.
If that is correct and I read it right, what type of book are you
working on currently? What part of the midwest? And why did you choose
that area to write in, as opposed to your home in California?
My home is and will always be in California. I moved to a suburb in
Chicago to get away from everything I knew. I wanted to be somewhere
so completely different, somewhere out in the country with no
distractions, that I would finally focus on this book I have been
slowly writing. My friends, family and school are all home in
California, but with so many interests there it made it hard to stay
home and write for long periods of time. I do make trips out to
California about every two to three weeks.

You are a prolific tweeter. What made you interested in this form
of social media? Along those lines of social media, you are not the
atypical adult film star with your tweets. What I mean by that is you
don't tweet incessantly things like "OMG I'm woring a film with
(insert adult male film star's name) today! I can't wait to get plowed
by his 47 inches!"...which I find refreshing. Is there any particular
reason you don't tweet like that? What do you think of people in your
industry who tweet about that non-stop?
I love twitter. It’s a fun cathartic outlet for me. My first tweets
were from my brother’s hospital bedside. I spent many hours in ER
rooms, physical rehabilitation centers, etc as my brother recovered
from a near fatal motorcycle accident that left him severely
physically disabled. All I had for entertainment was my blackberry, I
eventually discovered twitter and kept myself entertained and found I
had an audience. I loved having penpals around the world, which is how
I see twitter.

I noticed in a few tweets that you are very compassionate about
charities. What charities are you currently involved in? What got you
motivated to belong to those charities? Where can your fans donate to
those charities, and what can your fans do to support those charities?
I became very active in fund raising after my brothers motorcycle
accident. I didn’t realize how much insurance companies don’t pay for
anything. His basic maintenance in terms of health was covered, but
for any equipment that might help him learn how to use his hands or
walk again the insurance wouldn’t cover. I became very frustrated with
the medical system and looked for other ways to help his recovery. He
still has a long hard road ahead, but for any that can spare a tax
deductible donation we are raising funds for my brother here:

What book are you currently reading? Care to share some of your
favorite authors/books?
I am currently reading 11/22/63 by Stephen King. I am a huge Stephen
King fan not to mention Michael Crichton, John Grisham, Kurt Vonnegut
and Anne Rice.

I've noticed that you don't do alot of "guest dancer" appearances
in gentlemen's clubs. Why is that? And if I'm wrong, I apologize. If
you do or have done these dancing appearances, what in general has
been the responses from your fans?
I was going out on guest dance appearances before my brothers
motorcycle accident, however once his accident occurred I stayed put
and did very little traveling until very recently. I am just now up
for roaming the country once more and may be appearing somewhere in
April. I will post it on twitter or my site (www.aurorasnow.com) as
soon as I have the details.

Speaking of fans, do you get approached alot by fans? How do they
approach you? What have been some of the more silly/stupid approaches?
If a fan were to see you in public, what advice would you give them
for how to approach you for an autograph or a photo or just simply to
say hi?
Yes, I am approached frequently by fans. Most are very kind and
respectful. I have signed t-shirts, hats, one dollar bills, receipts,
and even a girls bra. I never know when it’ll happen, sometimes it’s
at 7-Eleven, a gas station, a restaurant,etc. I am very friendly and
approachable and never mind when someone says hello.

You've started doing webcam shows on skype. Can you tell us about
that? How does someone sign up for that? What made you get involved
with doing these shows?
A girlfriend of mine was raving about cam shows, she works as a cam
girl and really loves it. I looked into some of the cam sites and
wanted to try it out, but on my own terms. Which is how I came to do
skype shows. I really enjoy doing them, it’s a lot of fun and very
customizable. I have done a candle light show, a foot fetish show,
etc… I’m a natural people pleaser and really love doing this. For
details on how to arrange one go to my website www.aurorasnow.com and
fill out a request form under the kitty store label. I also offer
custom dvds for those who want an even more custom experience to
treasure ;)

Lastly, please tell us what social media sites you are on, and how
your fans can find you on those?
Awesome. Twitter is my all time favorite social media right now.
I have a website www.aurorasnow.com which I run and maintain personally.
My Youtube channel is www.youtube.com/aurorasnowhd
My twitter is: www.twitter.com/MissAuroraSnow

There you have it... the lovely Miss Aurora Snow! Credit is due to the photographer of her picture... I found it on the internet on flickr.com with no info.
